The Delta Devils

RELOADED

In 2003, The Delta Devils formed when harp slinger Snakey Jake decided to inject a new, more soulful note into an Albuquerque blues scene that was starving for a little style and sophistication.

In a "post Stevie Ray" blues climate dominated by generic blues rock, the Devils began challenging the modern conventional wisdom of what a blues band should be, instead polishing up rediscovered gems from deep in the blues.

Occassional R&B and Jazz tunes rounded out the reperetoire, and before you knew it, the Devils were suddenly Albuquerque's coolest band, while always keeping one foot deep in the blues.

Today,
Snakey has has reconstituted the Delta Devils by bringing in some new blood. Still, The Delta Devils always bring a cool, authentic blues sound that's not afraid of a little musical cross pollination. Both lowdown blues tunes and hot footed originals can be heard on 'Poolside' -- the CD that broke the band onto the regional blues scene. And with a new lineup, a new CD is looming just over the horizon. . .
